Nominating Committee Descriptions/Form

□ PRESBYTERY’S COUNCIL – 18 at large members who meet quarterly with moderators of divisions, other major committees and boards to coordinate the various affairs and meetings of presbytery.

□ DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION – 12 at large members who meet quarterly to oversee the budget, finances, office, and personnel of the Presbytery.

□ DIVISION OF CHURCH DEVELOPMENT/REDEVELOPMENT – 18 at large members who meet quarterly to foster existing church development and new church development of the Presbytery.

DIVISION OF COMMITTEE ON MINISTRY –

□ Committee on Ministry – 18 (nine elders and nine ministers) at large members who meet monthly to oversee the work of ministers and sessions in accord with the Book of Order G-11.0500ff.

□ Committee on Preparation for Ministry – Nine at large members who meet as necessary to oversee the candidates for ministry in the Presbytery in accord with Book of Order G-14.0300ff.

□ Committee on Sexual Misconduct – Six at large members who meet as necessary to implement the sexual misconduct policy of the Presbytery.

□ DIVISION OF COOPERATIVE MISSIONS – 18 at large members who meet at least quarterly and within work groups to address issues of mission, 2¢ a meal, international partnerships, higher education, older adult ministries, and public issues.

□ DIVISION OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT – 18 at large members who meet at least quarterly and within work groups to address issues of camps and conferences, youth work, Christian education,  new minister orientation, clusters, and resource centers.

□ REVIEW AND EVALUATION COMMITTEE – Nine members who meet at least quarterly to design and implement a process for review and evaluation of the Presbytery with an annual
"State of the Presbytery Report" and triennial goal setting process.

□ BILLS AND OVERTURES COMMITTEE – Six at large members who meet as necessary to receive referrals and make recommendations regarding bills and overtures to and from Presbytery.

□ COMMITTEE ON REPRESENTATION – Six at large members who meet as necessary to review the elements of inclusiveness within the Presbytery in accord with the Book of Order
G-9.0105 and 11.0302.

□ NOMINATING COMMITTEE – Twelve at large members who meet as necessary to nominate people to elected positions within the Presbytery.

□ PERMANENT JUDICIAL COMMISSION – Seven at large members who meet as necessary to adjudicate charges and matters of discipline within Presbytery in accord with the Book of Discipline.

□ TRUSTEES OF THE PRESBYTERY OF THE PEAKS – Twelve at large members who meet as necessary to hold title and manage property, to oversee financial fiduciary affairs and to respond to other matters as requested and delegated by Presbytery.

□ READER OF ORDINATION EXAMS – Two at large people to annually read and grade ordination examinations.

□ COMMISSIONERS AND YOUTH DELEGATE TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SYNOD, AND THE PRESBYTERY – Elder and minister commissioners and Youth Advisory Delegates for each biannual meeting of the assembly and synod on behalf of the Presbytery and YADs for meetings of Presbytery.

□ MODERATOR AND VICE-MODERATOR OF THE PRESBYTERY – Elder or minister who moderate the meetings of Presbytery and represent the body as needed for a one-year term.

□ SYNOD OF MID-ATLANTIC – Positions on the various committees of the synod.

□ GENERAL ASSEMBLY (PCUSA) – Positions on the various assembly committees.
